Blue Patch was founded in 2014 as an ethical collective with a focus on products made or manufactured in the UK.
Shoppers can browse our website and buy directly from our collective – we take no commission on sales made this way.
We do a limited number of events each year.
In 2019, we did a 3 week showcase at the Whitworth Gallery in Manchester, a stand at London Design Fair at the Old Truman Brewery and the Blue Patch Sustainable Business Awards ceremony in London. Find out more about current opportunities for members.
We hold regular networking events like our business breakfasts where members come together to meet each other and discuss issues related to sustainability and small business. We also blog about these issues. Find our thoughts here.
Our ethos is what sets the Blue Patch Collective apart
Did you know that Blue Patch is a social enterprise? Every penny we make supports our business members, renewable energy, conservation and community programmes.
This year, we invested in Brighton Energy Cooperative’s Solar Schools. We also plant trees. Every member that joins or renews is another tree planted. We work with communities to fund clean energy, respond to the climate emergency and stimulate green jobs in a practical way.
We are sustainable and British
Our members manufacture their products across the British Isles. We are proud to include Cumbrian weavers, Shropshire chair-makers, Stoke potteries, London bakers, Glasgow bee-savers, Cardiff shoemakers and Manchester fashionistas to our ranks.
We also welcome Global Impact members to the Blue Patch community. These are impact-driven British businesses working with international artisans that are creating ethical partnerships, generating positive change in communities and maintaining a fair and transparent supply chain.
‘We are delighted by beautiful things, made with skill and integrity. From Orkney to Lands End, Blue Patch curators are discovering a renaissance in artisanship and local manufacturing. We bring these exceptional products and services directly to our customers.’ Jane Langley, CEO.
